College Tuition Scholarship Guidelines

 

 

LTC (various locations)

 

 

For child care workers who are taking classes to earn a CDA, Technical Diploma, or Technical Competency Area (TCA), partial college tuition scholarships will pay 100% of tuition and fees as long as they are required to purchase their own book for the class.  If the student is taking a CDA class and will not be required to purchase a book (will use same book purchased for previous class), scholarship will pay all tuition and fees minus $25. No observation hours are required.

 

For child care workers who are working towards an associate’s degree and are scheduled to take classes other than early childhood education / child development classes, full college tuition scholarships will pay for tuition only.  Scholarship recipient will be required to participate in an observation experience for a minimum of 6 hours during the semester in which the scholarship is awarded.  When working towards an associate’s degree and scheduled to take only early childhood education / child development classes during any given semester, full college tuition scholarships will still pay for tuition only but will not require an observation experience.

 

 

Community Colleges

 

 

For child care workers who are taking classes to earn a CDA, Technical Diploma, or Technical Competency Area (TCA), partial college tuition scholarships will pay for tuition, operational fee, technology fee, and academic excellence fee.

 

For child care workers who are working towards an associate’s degree and are scheduled to take classes other than early childhood education / child development classes, full college tuition scholarships will pay for tuition only.  Scholarship recipient will be required to participate in an observation experience for a minimum of 6 hours during the semester in which the scholarship is awarded.  When working towards an associate’s degree and scheduled to take only early childhood education / child development classes during any given semester, full college tuition scholarships will still pay for tuition only but will not require an observation experience.

 

 

 

Accredited 2 year or 4 year Colleges and Universities

 

For child care workers who are working towards an associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree, full college tuition scholarships will pay for tuition only.  Scholarship recipient will be required to participate in an observation experience for a minimum of 6 hours during the semester in which the scholarship is awarded.

 

For child care workers who are working towards a master’s degree or doctorate, or taking courses in care of young children or child development to meet QRS staff qualifications, partial college tuition scholarships will pay for tuition only.
