The Louisiana Pathways Child Care Career Development System is an exciting statewide program designed to help child care employees receive the recognition that they deserve. Participation is voluntary and there are no fees for enrolling. Enrolling in the system will provide a means of tracking training providers receive so that they can be recognized as professionals. 

The goals of the Louisiana Pathways Child Care Career Development System are:

	raising the level of training for all practitioners so that children in Louisiana will have personnel who are prepared to work effectively with children
	supporting child care staff in building a career rather than simply satisfying a licensing requirement
	reducing turnover in the field which is a major issue in quality and costs to child care centers
	recognizing and showing appreciation to caregivers who take their training seriously and are motivated to improve their practice with children
	providing scholarships for training and educating
